With the weather settling in to a pattern of cold and rain you have to take the opportunities to get out and about when you can.

With the school holidays happening we were delighted to get our grandie to stay with us for a week. Elise popped over from Rotorua a couple of times and we took the opportunity to take Selah back to Giz so we were able to see the whanau again.
We are so lucky to have a granddaughter who is so easy to please and likes the things I like. Walking is not a strong point but as long as it has interesting bits along the way she manages. Kaiate Falls and of course the Mount base track had plenty to see and do.
On wet and rainy days a trip to the movies and art gallery keeps you warm and dry. Of course the playground and Hairy Maclary always a favourite. The greenhouse on Monmouth Street a must for our little lover of nature, particularly flowers.
Playing dress up, creating shoe box houses and a neighbours cat visiting, other highlights of the week.
The most hysterical time was when the grandparents joined in the sofa gymnastics. Apparently I’m not to share the video of Wayne, you will just have to imagine, that’s if I haven’t shown you already. 🤣
A great week with our little munchkin 😘😍 so grown up.

We decided that our jeep deserved a face lift, the sun and sand had done the damage.
We also managed to get out a few times in the boat. A couple of times it was nice to have a picnic on the boat… No fish caught. The last time the gurnards came to the party, for some of us.. Bizzarly on the news that evening there was a picture of two boats on the ramp and we are one of them, freaky!
On to August…
